Escalator

An escalator is a moving staircase that carries people between floors of a building or structure. It consists of a motor-driven chain of individually linked steps on a track that cycles on a pair of tracks that keep them horizontal.

The escalator is often used around the world in places where lifts would be impractical, or they can be used in conjunction with them. The principal areas of usage include department stores, shopping malls, airports, transit systems (railway/railroad stations), convention centers, hotels, arenas, stadiums, and public buildings.

The escalator has the capacity to move large numbers of people. They can be placed in the same physical space as a staircase. They have no waiting interval (except during very heavy traffic). They can be used to guide people toward main exits or special exhibits. They may be weatherproofed for outdoor use.

Advantages of Escalators

• It is more efficient as people don’t have to wait as in the case of an elevator.
• Its speed can be adjusted as per crowd management and can be turned off when not in use.
• It has more loading capacity and allows a large number of people to move from one place to another at the same time.

Specification

1. Lightening power: single phase 220VAC, lSA. Customer provide grounding terminal with resistance no bigger than 40.
2. Pit bottom should be smooth and bright, water proof. No need pit if escalator was installed above second floor.
3. The pressure here is for one unit, when two in parallel, the girder bear pressure more than twice of it.
4. If there is middle support, it should be firmly welded with the truss, distance between two adjacent support should no more than 15m.
5. Three sides decoration of truss is by customer
6. ‘s’in drawing stands for floor plate thickness. Main power: 380/220V 3- phase 5-line.
