In an elevator, the door and door frame are critical components for safety and functionality. They control access to the elevator car and the various floors it serves.

  • Elevator Door: Typically made of durable materials like stainless steel, elevator doors can be manual or automatic and are often of the sliding type for space efficiency. There are usually two sets of doors:
    1. Car Door: Mounted on the elevator car, it moves with the cabin and opens/closes automatically when the car reaches a floor.
    2. Landing Door: Installed at each floor, this door only opens when the car is properly aligned with the floor to ensure safe entry and exit.
  • Door Frame: The elevator door frame is a structural support around the landing doors, made from robust materials like steel or aluminum. It provides a stable mounting surface for the doors and houses components like sensors, door operators, and safety mechanisms to ensure smooth and secure operation. The frame ensures precise alignment, allowing the doors to function properly in high-use environments.
